Trauma Team Member: Full Immersion Simulation Course

This course aims to translate the individual knowledge and skills which have been gained from a trauma provider course into enabling staff to work effectively as a member of a trauma team in their particular role.

What does the course entail?

Pre-course:
You will be provided with pre-course reading before the training begins.

Simulation day:
Using simulation as a core component of the one day course you will be exposed to up to 6 diverse trauma scenarios to work through common issues which can impact on trauma management.

Who should attend?
If your role includes forming part of a trauma team, this course is for you. This is specifically a multidisciplinary training day for medical staff, nurses, ODP/ODA’s and radiographers. The intention is to form a realistic trauma team on the day with you playing your role as you would in clinical practice.

Limited funded places are available for UCLH staff or for those working across UCLPartners
The cost is £150 for candidates from outside of UCLPartners

Acute Paediatric Trauma Day (APT)

 

Course description:

This course will re-visit crisis resource management & human factors skills, to enable you to critically evaluate your own performance & that of others. It will also introduce the principles of Trauma Management in Children.

Who can apply:

Suitable for All grades and all disciplines Doctors and Nurses from multidisciplinary background

  • A maximum of four Band 5 nurses may also attend each course

Trauma Team Leaders – Immersive Simulation Day

This course aims to consolidate previously gained knowledge & skills, with an exploration of the necessary non-technical skills in trauma teams . Enabling Candidates to work effectively as a leaders of a trauma team.

The course will be delivered by a combination of methods during the day, including team training activities and simulation. The training facilities at the Royal London Simulation Centre are world class and supported by a experienced faculty of Trauma and Simulation experts

This course is suitable for ST4+ Doctors working in Emergency Medicine in Major Trauma Centres and Band 6 or 7 nurses across the UCLPartners Network.
