Trauma Team Member: Full Immersion Simulation Course

This course aims to translate the individual knowledge and skills which have been gained from a trauma provider course into enabling staff to work effectively as a member of a trauma team in their particular role.

What does the course entail?

Pre-course:
You will be provided with pre-course reading before the training begins.

Simulation day:
Using simulation as a core component of the one day course you will be exposed to up to 6 diverse trauma scenarios to work through common issues which can impact on trauma management.

Who should attend?
If your role includes forming part of a trauma team, this course is for you. This is specifically a multidisciplinary training day for medical staff, nurses, ODP/ODA’s and radiographers. The intention is to form a realistic trauma team on the day with you playing your role as you would in clinical practice.

Limited funded places are available for UCLH staff or for those working across UCLPartners
The cost is £150 for candidates from outside of UCLPartners

Health Promotion in Older People – Pan London Study Day

Topics include:

• Patterns in the population: seeking epidemiological answers to geriatrics questions.
• Health promotion for frail older people: evidence & best practice.
• The role of exercise in falls prevention.
• No Health without Mental Health.
• The Camden Frailty Hub experience.
• Bone Health in older people.
The study day is free to attend and the venue is large enough to accommodate all London based Geriatric registrars. However we ask that you please register your attendance via the registration link.

This symposium focusing on obesity and diabetes, promises to be an interesting and informative event.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Adrian Brown, Specialist Dietician at Imperial College NHS Trust and Imperial College London, discussing dietary management of obesity
  • Dr. Harvinder Chahal, Consultant in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Bariatric Medicine and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College NHS Trust and Imperial College London, will speak about lifestyle, pharmacotherapy and bariatric surgery: Who, when and how to refer?
  • Professor Rachel Batterham, Professor of Obesity, Diabetes and Endocrinology at Univerisity College London and UCLH Foundation Trust will also be speaking.
